Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT) recognizes the need for additional funding to enhance child care provider training and improvements in child care centers and family child care homes. Any provider with a current CCS Provider Agreement and within the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board area is eligible to participate in grant and scholarships opportunities.
Grants and Scholarships will be granted to Texas Rising Star (TRS) providers first and to those providers who have submitted TRS interest forms to WSNCT.
Funding for grants and scholarships are made available by Texas Workforce Commission and Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas. Please check this website often, as grant and scholarship opportunities become available.

College Reimbursement Scholarships
Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas is excited to offer reimbursement scholarships for college courses toward certification or a degree in the area of child development. The funds are provided by the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board to Texas Rising Star Providers or providers who have applied to become a TRS provider.
These funds are available for a maximum of two courses plus books for the Summer 2021 semester.The eligible courses include business development/management, child development, or education for children ages 0-8 and pertain to the job requirements of the applicant’s current position. All courses must be required courses in accordance with the applicant’s degree plan for a certification or a degree in the area of child development or education for children ages 0-8. Prerequisites courses are not eligible for reimbursement with this scholarship.
Your application must be received no later than 12:00pm on May 7, 2021. Selected participants will be notified no later than May 14, 2021.
Applicants must include a signed degree plan, transcript, or semester schedule from the college/university to which he/she will be attending with their application. Students already receiving financial aid that covers the full cost of their tuition will not be considered.
Child Care Administrator’s Credential Scholarships
Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas is excited to announce a special opportunity for a Child Care Administrator’s Credential scholarship to selected early learning programs with a current CCS Program Agreement in in the North Central Texas Workforce Board area for classes being offered virtually via Zoom in partnership with Camp Fire First Texas. Only three applications per facility will be accepted for this class. This scholarship covers the cost of the class only.
Dates: May 26, 27, 2021, June 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 2021 (You must attend ALL sessions.)
Virtual Location: Zoom. Links will be sent through Camp Fire once registration is complete.
Limited to 3 applications per facility. Scholarships will be granted to employees of Texas Rising Star (TRS) programs first and to those programs who have submitted a TRS interest forms to WSNCT. After that, awards will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis pending applicant meets basic requirements.
Complete the ECMI Class Application and return by noon on May 7, 2021. Selected participants will be notified no later than May 14, 2021.
The Early Childhood Management Institute (ECMI) has been designed for the new or experienced child care director and for individuals interested in becoming a director who wish to acquire or enhance management skills. Upon completion of this exciting 12-day, 50 hour program, participants are eligible to receive a Child Care Administrator’s Credential when they successfully complete a comprehensive examination (70% accuracy). Participants must be at least 21 years of age. A Child Care Administrator Credential is valid for 3 years. It is highly recommended that participants have at least one (1) year work experience in a licensed early learning program.
