Jack Henry & Associates, Emerson Process Management Partner with Collin College for $444,470 Job-Training Grant

Jack Henry & Associates and Emerson Process Management Regulator Technologies have partnered with Collin College to provide job training using a $444,470 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The grant will benefit workers in the Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas area.

This grant will be used to provide custom training to 192 new and incumbent workers for information technology-related topics. Trainees will include software engineers, computer programmers,  industrial engineers and project managers. Upon completion of training, the workers will receive an average wage of $39.82.


Ellis County Employer James Hardie Partners with Navarro College for $82,133 Job-Training Grant

James Hardie Industries Ltd. is partnering with Navarro College to provide customized training for incumbent employees using an $82,133 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). This grant will benefit workers in the Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas area.

This grant will be used to provide custom training to 58 incumbent workers for industry-related topics with focused instruction on electrical controls, hydraulics and pneumatics, programmable logic controllers, welding and database management. Trainees will include mechanics, electricians, operation supervisors, maintenance technicians, operators, welders and process technicians. Upon completion of training, the workers will receive an average wage of $25.38.


PECOFacet and Weatherford College Partner for $613,936 Job-Training Grant

PECOFacet is partnering with Weatherford College to provide customized training for new and incumbent employees using a $613,936 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). This grant will benefit workers in the Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas area.

Kent Andersen to Serve on Texas Economic Development Council’s Board of Directors

Kent Andersen, Business Development Manager for Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WFSNCT), has been named to the Texas Eco nomic Development Council’s Board of Directors.  “We are proud to have Kent representing us on the TEDC Board of Directors. Being the first representative from the Texas Workforce System on the Board highlights the emerging importance of a direct connection between the economic development community and the workforce system”, said David Setzer, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas.

North Central Awarded High Demand Job Training Grant

The Texas Workforce Commission has dedicated one million dollars to support collaborations between Workforce Development Boards (Boards) and Economic Development Corporations (EDCs) to provide high-demand occupational job training in local workforce areas. Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT) has been awarded $75,000.00 from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and Terrell Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) has pledged to match dollar for dollar for a total project cost of $150,000.00.


Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas is Awarded their 5th Achievement in Excellence in Procurement Award

In partnership with North Central Texas Council of Governments, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT) has been awarded the prestigious 20th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award (AEP) for 2015 from the National Procurement Institute (NPI). North Central Texas Hosted 1st Annual Early Childhood Conference

On April 10 and 11, 2015, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas hosted their 1st Annual Early Childhood Conference designed to offer a networking platform and quality training to child care providers within the 14 county region. A total of 235 facility directors, owners and teaching staff registered to attend the two day conference.


North Central Hosted P2S Pathways to Success Youth Career Expo

On Thursday, March 26, 2015, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas hosted their first P2S Pathways to Success Youth Career Expo. This event engaged youth ages 17-24 in their career planning process. Career pathways were outlined and demonstrated by colleges, universities and employers. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from professionals about their chosen career field, see aspects of the work through interactive, hands-on exhibits and develop a better understanding of the employers located in the region.
